Steve Farrell has 10 years of teaching & coaching experience. He will be teaching Health and Social Skills at Lone Tree. Mr. Farrell will coach Middle School Football, Middle School Wrestling, High School Wrestling, Middle School Girls Track, 10th Grade Class Sponsor and Transportation Director at Lone tree. In the summers he is the co-owner of one of the largest team wrestling camps in the nation (Iron Sharpens Iron Team Wrestling Camps). Farrell started his teaching/coaching career in 2006 as an PE/Health Teacher and assistant wrestling/football coach in Goose Lake, Iowa at Northeast High School before moving into the head coaching position in 2010. As a head wrestling coach, Farrell compiled 47 dual meet wins, broke 6 records in 3 years, and his team qualified for the first time in school history for the Iowa State Regional Duals. He also helped Northeast raise over $30,000 to renovate their wrestling room. After Northeast, Coach Farrell and his wife Lexie moved to southern Iowa. Last year Coach Farrell taught Middle School Social Studies and served as the Activities Director at East Union Community Schools. Farrell wrestled four years at Upper Iowa University. At Cedar Falls High School, Farrell qualified for the state wrestling tournament two years and placed one year in 2001. In 1998, Farrell was also a member of the Cedar Falls State Championship Team. Farrell graduated with honors from Upper Iowa In 2006 with endorsements in Physical Education, Middle School Generalist, Health and Coaching.
