Home Page for Mrs. Viner, Title 1/Reading Recovery

Hello! My name is Kay Viner. I teach Reading Recovery and work with K-4 students in the Title I Reading program. I graduated from Lone Tree in 1985 and then went to the University of Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!). I began teaching here in the fall of 1990. At that time, I taught the Title I Reading program and then began the Reading Recovery program here in 1993. A couple of years later I moved to the classroom where I have taught both first and second grades. I moved back to the Reading Recovery/Title I position a few years ago and really enjoy it. My husband, Andy (also a Lone Tree graduate) and I have 4 children, Stephanie (another Lone Tree graduate!), Thomas, Nick and Alex. We also have 3 grandchildren Caleb, Kelsi and Bailee. Outside of school, I enjoy cheering on my kids in whatever sport they are doing (which keeps us very busy), watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, baking or reading. Go Lions!
